Nox's Bayou

Nox’s Bayou is the swamp region in the southwest, and per the official wiki it’s “a semi-settled swamp… Uneven ground, noxious deep water, and unfriendly flora and fauna abound. Lately, there have even been reports of an enormous predator in the area.” That predator is the boss, and the noxious water means traversal here is as much of a threat as the enemies.

How to reach it

Head west out of Ossex across Western Wilds: Occupied Bridge, then drop into the Backwaters: Shanty Swamp. Keep pushing through and you’ll arrive at Nox’s Bayou. The Backwaters has its own train station (Shanty Swamp), so once you’ve restored the train this becomes one of the quicker dungeons to revisit.

The route to the dungeon’s depths runs through the Big Lagoon — turn the ground into water and take the southwest exit to start climbing the Moonlit Path. At the top sits the mini-boss Mock Moon; beat it and the northern room opens to reveal the region’s mirror to the Astral Orrery.

The boss

The Nox Beast is the enormous predator the swamp’s residents keep warning about — it guards the region’s Spark Generator. After you’ve cleared it, a shortcut and waterfall lead to a frog-band side quest that rewards the Tumbling Tutu trinket, which then opens the path to the secret boss Willis back in Ossex’s Bowery music hall.

Next region

The canon order continues from Nox’s Bayou to Septemburg (northwest, via Kindlewood). The first four dungeons are free-order, so you can swap if you prefer — but this is the manual’s intended path.
