Battery Buster — Modes & Upgrades

The Battery Buster is a dynamic blaster — and one of the two unlockable weapons, so you won’t have it from the start. It’s a melee-and-gun hybrid: a short-range mace that adds ammo to its gun mode with every blow. Strike foes to power up, switch modes, then fire.

How the two modes work

The Battery Buster runs on two modes you toggle with Jump + Attack: red for melee, blue for ranged. Each melee hit banks ammo — you can count the orbs surrounding Mina to see how much you’ve stored. When you’re charged up, switch to blue mode and unload it from range. That melee-to-fire loop rewards aggressive play with safe burst damage.

Unlocking & upgrades

You get the Battery Buster from Legovich’s smithy in the red building in Ossex City Center, where the brothers sell it along with the other weapons and the Guardian Casket. Its two upgrades double down on charging: Burst Shot lets you hold the attack button in ranged mode to charge a powerful shot, and Charge Shot lets you hold in melee mode for a heftier swing that charges your ammo more quickly. Exact effects are in the upgrade table below.

Upgrade purchases at the smithy start at 2,000 Bones and settle at 2,500 Bones for every other purchase, and upgrades can also be found at the game’s eight field upgrade locations across Tenebrous Isle.

Verdict

The Battery Buster is the only weapon with a built-in ranged mode. It's a short-range mace that loads gun ammo with every melee blow — great if you want to bank hits up close, then switch to blue mode and fire from safety.
