Queensbury Crypt

Queensbury Crypt is a gothic cemetery of verdant rolling grounds and silent headstones — and the region most guides point you toward first. Monsters claw their way out of the graves here, and the townsfolk blame everything from a curse to the overstuffed cemetery to the failing Spark Generator. Restoring that generator re-illuminates the region and reveals the secrets the darkness had been hiding.

Sitting to the northeast of Ossex City, the crypt is reached overland through two lead-up zones. Head out the east exit into Eastern Heath (Grassland), then push on through Mourner’s Mile, whose iron gate hides a switch puzzle that opens the way in. The armored knight enemies in the heath hit hard at low levels, so expect this to feel like a real first dungeon rather than a gentle tutorial.

The Duchess and the Proto Spark

The region’s guardian is The Duchess of Queensbury, an eldritch horror wearing the face of the timid Duke’s long-lost companion — she was even the final boss of an early PAX demo. A separate secret boss, Midden, waits in the Ancestral Chamber for players who explore thoroughly.

The headline reward here is the Proto Spark (also written Proton Spark) trinket, earned by escorting the Duke to his casket. It grants a free revive / Bone retention on death and is widely flagged as a must-have — the single best reason to clear this crypt early.

Puzzles, mirror, and secrets

Statue Head Hall is the region’s signature puzzle: use your burrow to carry two statue heads into place. The same hall hides one of the world’s seven mirrors — burrow into the wall-mounted candle to expose it. Holding the walk button into the mirror teleports you to Mirror’s End in the Astral Orrery and, locally, opens a route to the Plundered Cache.
