Baron Lionel is a wealthy lion philanthropist and Mina’s patron. He funded her research on Tenebrous Isle — support that subsequently led to the isle’s rapid development — and acts as the “head honcho” of the hub city, Ossex.
When the Spark Generators fail and monsters flood the island, it is Lionel who commissions Mina to return and set things right. His former head of guard, Thorne, is the one who betrayed him and destroyed those generators.
